Well, things have been very busy lately. In December I started judging High School gymnastics. It is great, especially when judges I am judging with used to judge me when I was in high school 17 years ago. I also got the opportunity to judge with my former gymnast coach Corlyce Grant. Christmas was a quite but wonderful time to spend time with family.
January brought a lot of work projects and really focusing on the pageant. January 17-18 was spent at the Minneapolis Women’s Expo spreading the Go Red for Women message with the American Heart Association. It is a wonderful cause that I am proud to be part of. After the expo on the Sunday, Mrs. Minneapolis, Miss Woodbury and I volunteered to serve dinner at the Simpson Homeless Shelter for Women.
January 22 was the St. Paul Winter Carnival coronation. It was a blast to see everyone that I had not seen for a long time and to look great in the dress I bought from the Pageant Shop by Michaels a few weeks before.
Mrs. Minneapolis, Miss Woodbury, Miss Minnesota and one of our great teen contestants survived the cold and participated in the St. Paul Winter Carnival Day Parade. It was 0 degrees outside with a -15 wind-chill Minnesotans are such troopers.
February 6 is National Go Red for Women day with a major casting call and fashion show at the Mall of America. I had my dress fitting on January 30 and absolutely love the dress that the fashion show coordinators picked out for me. Very classic Jackie O style.
More to come in the next few weeks as more events are added to our schedule.
